Jaldhi Overseas books more MRs at Yangzi-Mitsui Shipbuilding

Singapore-based owner Jaldhi Overseas has returned to Yangzi-Mitsui Shipbuilding (Yamic) for more MR tankers.

Clarksons Research reports the company has booked two 50,000 dwt units for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2025 and the first quarter of 2026, taking the MR series at the yard to six.

No price has been revealed but shipbuilding brokers are quoting between $45m and $47m for similar newbuild tonnage.

Jaldhi was established in Singapore in 2004 and is part of India’s Bothra Group. In September last year, the company also ordered four 66,000 dwt ultramax bulk carriers at the same yard, which is a joint venture between China’s Yangzijiang Shipbuilding and Japan’s Mitsui E&S Shipbuilding.
