Karadeniz takes aframax

Turkey’s Karadeniz Holding, the creator of increasingly popular floating power stations made from converted merchant ships, has bought an 18-year-old aframax tanker, paying $12.5m for the Happy Century[/mt.

Kardeniz’s subsidiary Karpowership currently has projects in Cuba , Gambia, Ghana, Senegal, Indonesia,Lebanon, Sierra Leone and Sudan as well as Mozambique where it has just teamed up with Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) for a world-first LNG-powered floating station.
