Singapore: Keppel FELS has announced a deal to build a KFELS B Class backup rig for Vietnamese offshore drilling firm PV Drilling Overseas.
The contract is valued around $210 million with the rig schedule for delivery early 2015.
Wong Kok Seng, md of Keppel FELS said, “Having just delivered our 45th KFELS B Class rig, and with another 19 on order, this proven design has been the rig of choice for the offshore drilling industry."
The KFELS B Class jackup design is able to operate in water depths of 400 feet, drilling depth of 30,000 feet and accommodate up to 150 men.
At the same time, Keppel Corporation also announced that it has acquired a 35% of the issued share capital of PV Drilling Overseas from Falcon Energy Group Limited. [04/07/13]
