Large Asian delegation gets ready for SMM 2012

Singapore: It’s just two weeks to go before the world’s largest shipping exhibition convenes in Hamburg. SMM 2012 will see a record Asian participation, the organisers tell SeaShip News.
Asian presence is strong, led by the Chinese, with a total of 290 Asian exhibitors, up by around 40 over the previous issue. In exhibition hall B4 visitors will find the Chinese pavillion and with 160 Chinese exhibitors this year’s German maritime megashow boasts around 20 extra companies than the previous edition in 2010. Other Asian national pavillions include Singapore, Korea, Japan and Bangladesh.
“The growing attendance of Asian exhibitors demonstrates the dynamic in this part of the world and is a clear indicator of the importance of SMM as the world’s leading maritime trade fair,” said Peter Bergleiter, Head of Division at Hamburg Messe & Congress GmbH (HMC).
SeaShip will be sending a strong delegation to the event and looks forward to meeting many of our readers out and about in Hamburg. [20/08/12]
