Libyan oil strike abates, tanker loaded

Cairo: Ras Lanuf refinery in Libya has seen the loading of its first tanker since the start of labour unrest across the nation’s oil sector about three weeks ago.

Shipping sources said that the Ras Lanuf refinery, the largest refinery in Libya, loaded on Friday the first petroleum product tanker since the end of July. The Cape Benat tanker is headed to Italy with a cargo of kerosene.

‫Strikes over wages and other protests in the two largest oil ports in Libya as well as in the oil fields have caused a decline in the production of Libya's crude oil exports to its lowest levels since the civil war that toppled Muammar al-Qadhafi.  [18/08/13]
