Malaysian ports must up their game

Kuala Lumpur: Amid ever greater regional competition Malaysian ports need to up their game to be sure of retaining traffic, an official from the Maritime Institute of Malaysia (MIMA) has told local newswire Bernama.

MIMA senior fellow, Nazery Khalid, said: "They must constantly improve efficiency and productivity, provide superior services at competitive costs and have adequate features to attract the growing sizes of the ships. To attract main line operators here, the country must also offer a wide range of supporting services to the shipping lines."  [28/03/14]
