Masterbulk appoints new CEO
Singapore: Shipowner Masterbulk has appointed Nicholas Fisher to the role of ceo to take charge of the dry cargo business currently being operated by Masterbulk from Singapore and Norwegian subsidiary, Westfal-Larsen Shipping AS.
Fisher will be based in Singapore, and as part of a restructure Stephen Fordham will step down from his role as executive chairman of Masterbulk and Westfal-Larsen.
Fordham, who will remain the chairman of both companies, commented, “I am very enthusiastic about Nick’s appointment. He brings all the skill-sets we need to take our business forward and better meet our clients’ ever-evolving needs.”
Fischer was most recently ceo of the Oman Shipping Company and previously worked with the A.P. Møller-Mærsk group for fourteen years. [06/09/13]
