Nansha eyes free trade zone status

Guangzhou: Following Shanghai and Tianjin, Guangzhou Nansha is to be the third area to apply for free trade zone status.
The Nansha new free trade zone proposal will be submitted to the State Council in the second half of 2013, according to information from Guangzhou municipal government.  The free trade zone is planned to be “opened to Hong Kong and Macau” and “comprehensive cooperation”, the authority said.

Based on Beijing’s strategic arrangement, there must be a free trade zone in south China, an official from Guangdong provincial government said, and Nansha is actively working on it now. [16/07/13]
