Handysize gas carrier owner and operator Navigator Holding continues to offload its elderly ships. The New York-listed company said it had sold 23-year-old LPG carrier Navigator Orion for $20.9m.
The 22,085 cu m ship, which VesselsValue estimates to be worth $18.8m, has already been delivered and renamed Bertolle. Fleet register Equasis lists the Liberian-flagged vessel as owned by Greece’s Optra Shipping.
The Navigator Orion was the company’s oldest vessel following the disposal of the 1999-built Happy Bird, renamed Serenity Gas, in March this year.
Navigator has the world’s largest fleet of handysize liquefied gas carriers, consisting of 56 vessels, 25 of which are ethylene and ethane capable. The company reported a first-quarter profit of $18.8m.
