New Bali cruise terminal bidding process to start

Jakarta: Tendering for the construction of the Tanah Ampo cruise terminal in Bali will get underway next month.

National Development Planning Board (Bappenas) public private partnership (PPP) procurement director Mohammad Zulfikar said up to eight investors, both domestic and foreign, had passed the prequalification phase.

The winning bid should be announced by the end of the year. Construction, which includes a new breakwater, is likely to cost between $15m and $20m.

Indonesia is increasingly hot on the cruise circuit. This year, the nationa anticipates a 54% leap in cruise calls to 308, and a rise of 30.1% in the number of passengers to 147,134 people.  [04/07/13]
