NYK linked to Hyundai Samho LNG orders

Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) has been named as the owner behind a recent big-ticket LNG order in South Korea.

Clarksons Research has reported the Japanese shipping line as the contractor for two 174,000 cu m units at Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries.

The shipbuilder revealed the order in an exchange announcement last week, worth a total of around $525m or more than $262m per ship.

Earlier this year, NYK also booked three similar ships at Hyundai Samho in a deal worth about $765m, translating to $255m for each vessel.
