Brokers have revealed the identity of the medium range product tanker snapped up by Great Eastern Shipping last week.
The Indian owner revealed it had bought a Japanese 48,710 dwt ship last week, but provided little else in terms of details. It turns out to be the 2005-built Challenge Prospect, owned by Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) with brokers indicating the Japanese owner pocketed $14.25m from the sale.
Great Eastern Shipping currently has a fleet of 33 vessels, comprising 23 tankers and 10 dry bulk carriers.
