Oasis Energy makes aframax debut

Oman-based Oasis Energy has purchased its first large tanker, tabling $9.5m for a 17-year-old aframax, broking sources tell Splash.

Brokers note that the deal for the 112,200 dwt Seaways Josefa Camejo is still on subs while the same ship is already reported to be named Phaedra Bright 1 by AIS.

Privately owned Oasis Energy previously focused on bunkering and is listed with one elderly 7,000 dwt tanker, the Oasis 1. Accoring to its site, Oasis Energy is the sole provider of quality bunkers in Port Sultan Qaboos since the year 2000.
