OceanPact takes over DDW Offshore’s AHTS pair

Brazilian offshore vessel owner and services provider OceanPact Serviços Marítimos has taken over a pair of anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels from DDW Offshore, a subsidiary of Norwegian oil-services investment company Akastor.

The AHTS duo Skandi Saigon and Skandi Pacific were chartered out to OceanPact under a bareboat agreement plus a purchase obligation in 2021.

Following the expiry of the charter, both vessels have been sold to OceanPact for the agreed cash payment of $18m for both vessels.

Akastor said in a regulatory filing that $9m will be shared with the DDW Offshore lenders in accordance with the profit split agreement that was part of the DDW Offshore restructuring completed in October 2020, while the remaining part of the sales proceeds will go to reduce the subsidiary’s net debt.
