PetroChina receives notice from US court

Beijing: China’s state run oil conglomerate PetroChina announced that it has received notice from a US court related to complaints from investors which accuse the company of violations of US securities regulations, including failure to disclose the investigation into the company’s former and current chairman.

"The company will vigorously contest the complaint with its best efforts to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the company," PetroChina said.

China has started a serious of investigations on corruption led by president Xi Jinping, with several big names in the energy and shipping sectors dragged into investigations. [27/11/13]
