PGS scores 4D survey contract in West Africa

Norwegian seismic player PGS has won another 4D survey contract offshore West Africa.

The Oslo-listed company, set to merge with seismic data specialist TGS, said the mobilisation is set for the fourth quarter and that the contract would last for about 60 days. No further details have been disclosed.

“We experience continued high activity in our core West African markets and are very pleased with this contract award. Our Ramform acquisition platform in combination with multi-sensor GeoStreamer technology will provide the client with high-quality 4D seismic data,” noted Rune Olav Pedersen, president and CEO of PGS.

PGS pioneered the GeoStreamer 4D acquisition solution in West Africa in 2012 and has since carried out over 50 surveys in the region. The company has two ships earmarked for West Africa projects – the Ramform Atlas and the Ramform Vanguard.
