PSA, Mitsui and NYK to operate new Jakarta terminal

Jakarta: A Japanese-Singaporean consortium has been given the go ahead to build a new terminal in the Indonesian capital.

PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II (IPC), Mitsui & Co, shipping line Nippon Yusen Kaisha and Singapore port operator PSA International have agreed to jointly participate in the construction and operation of a new container terminal at Tanjung Priok Port. This new terminal will be developed and operated by the newly established project company PT New Priok Container Terminal One (NPCT1).

The new terminal will have an annual handling capacity of approximately 1.5m teu, an overall berth length of 850 m, and a 16 m draft upon completion.  [19/12/14]
