Hanoi: Saignon Newport is set to close next year and to be redeveloped into a housing project. Located in Ho Chi Minh City’s Binh Thanh district the port is start emptying out all its cargoes and shippers have been requested to pick up containers left at the port by the middle of August.
The port will stop taking containerships this September, then rice shipments will cease in October while all ships will have to find alternative ports come next May. [07/07/14]
