Indian tanker player Sanmar Shipping is listed by brokers as the taker of the 2002-built, 47,000 dwt Ardmore Seatrader for $8.2m, a ship first reported sold last month.

The same ship was sold in 2017 to Japanese interests in a sale and leaseback deal by US listed Ardmore.

Last month Sanmar also bought the 3,400 dwt Toli tanker for $5m.

Sanmar started out as a bulker player in 1995. The company subsequently diversified into the the tanker segment in 1996. It has since restructured its portfolio and consolidated its position as a strong player in clean petroleum products. The company operates a fleet of eight ships today, comprising tankers and one LPG carrier.
