Seven missing as typhoon passes by

Guangzhou: Seven Chinese crewmembers were missing after their cargo ship sank during Typhoon Haiyan in the South China Sea.

The cargo ship Shu Hang 998 sank while anchoring in the port of Sanya, Hainan when the storm caused the mooring line to snap, a port official said.

China has announced the highest alert for typhoon Haiyan, which has entered into Guangxi province this morning, the local transportation sectors have launched emergency responses. [13/11/11]
