Ships sinks following collision at Tanjung Perak

Jakarta: A cargo ship, called Journey, sank after colliding with a passenger vessel, the Lambelu, at Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya in East Java, early yesterday.

No casualties were reported. A total of 133 containers were lost, however, following the accident with the ferry operated by Pelni. The ferry was unscathed.

"Port administration officials are questioning the Journey's captain, Kapel Hukom, to gather information about the contents of the lost containers," the head of administration at Tanjung Perak Port told the Jakarta Post.

The cargo vessel sank within an hour of the collision.  [02/04/14]
