Siem Offshore secures AHTS fixture in Australia

Norway’s Siem Offshore has signed a new contract for the anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel Siem Sapphire to operate for an oil major in Australia.

The deal secures firm utilisation for about one year with a further six-month option attached. Dayrates have not been disclosed.

The Siem Sapphire is currently located in Singapore and the delivery of the 2010-built vessel is expected to take place between December 2023 and the middle of January 2024.

The vessel’s previous work included walk-to-work operations for accommodation support in relation to the commissioning of an offshore wind farm in Taiwan.
