Swiber and Sime Darby drop dispute

Kuala Lumpur: Swiber Offshore Construction has withdrawn its notice of arbitration against a subsidiary of Sime Darby over a dispute relating to a $188.86m contract.

The contract was for a well-head platform project awarded by Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) in January 2010. Differences over the project were to be referred to the Singapore International Arbitration Centre.

However, Sime Darby said on Tuesday its unit Sime Darby Engineering had received notification from Swiber over the withdrawal of the arbitration.  [04/09/13]
