Tanker targeted in Yemen

Doha: Violent clashes erupted between the army and gunmen on Wednesday as gunmen tried to intercept a tanker in the town of Al Alqa in the province of Shabwa in southeastern Yemen.

Al Masdar Online quoted local sources saying that the army had been able to remove an ambush by insurgents to intercept tankers.

The sources said that the clashes, which lasted for hours, saw gunmen trying to intercept a tanker, and loot equipment belonging to an oil company.  [19/09/13]
