Thuraya’s new maritime appointment

Dubai: Thuraya Telecommunications has appointed Keith Murray as maritime product manager based in Dubai.

Murray’s key tasks will be to increase the penetration of the Orion IP maritime broadband terminal in the market and oversee the commercial roll-out of the new Atlas IP broadband terminal in the first quarter of 2015.

Murray said: “The market is ready for a new alternative in the maritime segment. Thuraya’s combination of very competitive prices, new broadband terminals and reliable service positions us well. This role is a great opportunity for me to drive our maritime business forward. The maritime sector continues to be very dynamic in terms of speed of adoption and is still showing encouraging growth, both in the flow down from regulation and upward momentum from users whose expectation is that they should be connected no matter where they are.”

Murray joins Thuraya from Airbus Defence and Space where he was responsible for managing the lifecycle of products and systems in the naval satellite communication segment.  [02/02/15]
