TotalEnergies exercises option on Vantage drillship

Vantage Drilling has seen a second priced option exercised on its drillship working offshore West Africa.

TotalEnergies has opted to keep the 2013-built Tungsten Explorer for 110 days, fixing it into the second quarter of 2024.

Under the contract signed in June 2022, the French energy major, which has been utilising the floater offshore Namibia, has one more priced option available to keep the rig working into early 2025.

Vantage owns a fleet of two jackups and two drillships, while another pair of floaters is operated on behalf of Seadrill.
