UASC collaborates with Hamburg Sud on East-West trade

Dubai: United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) has signed a global cooperation agreement with German shipping line Hamburg Süd, which will allow the German company to enter into the East-West trade business.

The two shipping companies have reached agreement on a slot-exchange, which will give Hamburg Süd slots on several UASC routes.

The agreement includes four Asia-US West Coast loops; one Asia-US East Coast loop, two Asia-North Europe services and one from Asia to the Mediterranean.

UASC formed the Ocean Three Alliance with CMA CGM and China Shipping in September to operate some of the world’s biggest container vessels on the major East-West liner trade routes. [31/12/14]
