Winning continues cape crusade

Chinese owner Winning Shipping is not resting on its laurels and continues to show itself as the leading buyer of capesize bulkers for 2016. Brokers report that it has picked up the 181,300 dwt Aquarius Dream from Japanese owner MOL for $28m.

While details have only started to emerge this week, the sale has been completed, and the ship has changed hands and been renamed to Winning Nature.

MOL sold another cape also, off market, and linked to Korea’s Sinokor for the same price.

The Singapore-headquartered Winning started beefing up its fleet in February and has snapped up capes regularly, stepping acquisitions more recently with three vessels taken in since the end August according to brokers.
