ExxonMobil Indonesia boss not fired, regulator claims

Jakarta: The nation’s oil and gas regulator has sought to temper down reports that it was behind calls for the boss of ExxonMobil Indonesia to be fired. SKMigas, the regulator, has claimed that the oil major boss’s contract was not renewed.
“It must be known that there was no firing. That such a thing could hamper the investment climate in the oil and gas industry in Indonesia is not true, as the regulation regarding working tenure has been widely understood by oil companies for a very long time,” a spokesman for the regulator told local media.  [08/01/13]
