New contract for Olympic Shipping

Oslo: Olympic Shipping has been awarded a new short period contract for Olympic Taurus to conduct construction work offshore Argentina.

In a separate development Technip has declared their second annual option for multi purpose offshore vessel Olympic Challenge. The ship will be kept busy until August next year.

Olympic ceo Stig Remøy would not disclose the rate of the deals when speaking with Splash, he did however say that he was satisfied.

According to their website, Olympic will have five ships open in the spot market in the coming weeks, when asked about the openings Remøy says he isn’t at all concerned as trading spot is part of the company’s strategy.

Remøy says the Olympic is becoming increasingly involved in renewable energy work and had four ships employed in the renewable sector for infrastructure cable work last year.

Olympic is headquartered in Fosnavåg, Norway, and has a fleet of 23 vessels.
