Noble Energy plans further job cuts

Houston-based oil and gas E&P company Noble Energy has told staff it plans to make more job cuts before the end of the year, according to the Houston Chronicle.

The numbers to be laid off were not specified but the company said it will be trimming exploration activities to focus more on the production side. It is all part of a streamlining process necessitated by the oil price slump.

Noble has interests both on and offshore.

This will be the fourth round of layoffs by Noble since April 2015. The previous three accounted for almost 500 jobs, mainly in Texas, Colorado and Pennsylvania.
