Nordic Maritime supplies 2D marine seismic and OBN technology to Mitra Energy

Singapore: Nordic Maritime and its partner PT Alamjaya Makmur Sejahtera have won contract worth more than $2m to provide 2D seismic marine acquisition services with ocean bottom node (OBN) technology to Mitra Energy Indonesia.

Singapore-based Nordic Maritime’s S/V Nordic Bahari will start the acquisition as the OBN deployment and recovery vessel. Support will be supplied by another two Nordic vessels, MV Nordic Emma and MV Viking Vanguard, which will act as guard chase vessels.

“We are very excited and privileged to be working with Mitra Energy on this new project on 2D seismic marine acquisition services, which uses OBN in the shallow-water part of the survey,” said Kjell Gauksheim, Nordic Maritime’s executive director.

“We believe there are more opportunities like this and we are open to more contracts of this sort in future.” [20/10/14]
