Siem Offshore Contractors is to supply a walk-to-work (W2W) service operations vessels (SOV) to Ocean Breeze Energy at the German operator’s Bard Offshore 1 windfarm in the North Sea.

The multipurpose ROV support vessel (MRSV) Siem Marlin (built 2009) will be deployed at the windfarm, located in the German Bight sector of the sea, followed by the platform supply vessel Siddis Mariner (built 2011) in W2W mode.

The charter comprises a firm period of 700 days, plus options to extend the contract by up to three years. The value of the deal was not disclosed.

Siem’s vessels Siem Emerald and Siem Moxie have both served as dedicated W2W SOVs during the past year. The former vessel has been laid up in Norway since December.
