Santoku Senpaku in for DACKS ultramax pair

Japanese owner Santoku Senpaku has gone to DACKS, the Dalian joint venture shipyard run by Cosco and Kawasaki Heavy Industries, for a pair of ultramaxes. No price has been revealed for the bulkers, which are due to deliver around the end of next year.

Santoku Senpaku is a low profile owner. Founded in 1972 in Osaka, the company today has a trading fleet of 68 ships plus six newbuilds. Its fleet is predominantly dry bulk-focused.
