Vantage Drilling awarded work for jackup pair

Vantage Drilling has lined up more work for two of its jackup rigs.

The Houston-headquartered offshore driller said its 2009-built Topaz Driller has been booked by an undisclosed operator for 90 days. The rig is currently operating under a bareboat charter with ADES in Egypt for Petrobel and is scheduled for a 90-day one-well contract with Eni offshore Morocco starting in the third quarter of this year. According to the company’s latest fleet status update, the new conditional letter of award should start in the first quarter of 2024 after the rig completes its campaign with Eni.

Meanwhile, the 2007-built Soehanah has been given a letter of award for around 730 days. The unit is presently working for Medco offshore Indonesia at $58,000 per day. No further details were disclosed about the new deal which should start in direct continuation of the Medeco contract and keep the rig busy into the third quarter of 2025.
