Apeejay Shipping takes panamax

India’s Apeejay Shipping has taken an ageing panamax bulker to bring its fleet size to seven ships, a mix of handies, supras and panamaxes. The Kolkata-headquartered outfit has renamed the 2001-built Cretan Wave to Apj Uma Kismat. No price was given for the transaction.

“The newly acquired panamax, Apj Uma Kismat, has traded internationally for 16 years and is a strategic buy for the company as its focuses on continuous growth,” Apeejay Shipping stated.
