General cargo ship Chang Ping and another cargo ship Xin Wang 138 have collided at Wusongkou anchorage area near Shanghai this morning.
Chang Ping, which was loaded with steel products, sank after the collision, while Xin Wang 138 suffered minor damage.
Shanghai Maritime Rescue Center sent six patrol vessels and coordinated three nearby vessels to join the rescue operations.
So far three of 13 crew onboard Chang Ping have been rescued, while the other ten remain missing. Search and rescue operations are still ongoing.
Chang Ping is operated by Shandong Changdao Letong Shipping and Xin Wang 138 is run by Taizhou Changxin Transport.
