McDermott awarded Pemex subsea tieback contract

McDermott International has been awarded a contract by Mexico’s Pemex for subsea pipeline flowline installation at the Ayatsil field in the Bay of Campeche.

The project scope includes design and engineering, procurement, construction and installation of two subsea pipelines.

Richard Heo, senior vice president for North, Central and South America at McDermott, commented: “This award follows on the proven track record we have had in Mexico with PEMEX – including the fabrication and installation of the Ayatsil-C platform and the fabrication and future installation of Abkatun.”

Offshore installation is scheduled for completion early 2019.

Separately, McDermott also announced modification plans to convert pipeclay and construction vessel Amazon to an ultra-deepwater J-Lay vessel.
