Akmar makes rare bulker order

Dalian COSCO KHI (Dacks) – the Sino-Japanese joint venture yard – has bagged an order for a single 61,000 dwt ultramax bulker from Akmar Shipping & Trading, with delivery due in 2020. No price has been revealed for the ship although brokers suggest a price tag in the region of $25.5m.

Akmar is a Turkish company founded in 1987 that is also into agency and forwarding. This order is Akmar’s first for many years.
