Arina Offshore: Fleet growth plans

Dubai: An up and coming Dubai offshore player is on the hunt for more tonnage. Arina Offshore owns three offshore vessels and operates another 14.

Managing director Captain Charles Verghese says medium term business plans include: “Sustained growth of fleet size with acquiring more vessels based on contracts in existing regions and looking at developing contracts in emerging markets especially Africa and Mexico.”

Arina will look to expand its business by securing long term contracts with various majors in the region and expanding its fleet on specific requirements to cover a spectrum offering niche services to all segments of EPC and IMR works

Verghese is quick to dismiss concerns about possible overcapacity looming in the OSV sector.

“Oilfield work with requisite experience of operators is still in demand,” he says, “and with the sanctioning of new projects in MENA, demand remains for the established owners and operators.”

As well as being a vessel owner, Arina is a significant charterer backed up by its global network of offices in the UK, Singapore, India and the Caspian and associate offices in Russia and Australia

On top of that, Arina has carved out a good niche business in offshore vessel management, able to look after all types of OSVs for clients.  [06/08/13]
