Atlantica tender rig extended by Petrobras

Houston-headquartered Atlantica Tender Drilling has had an option exercised by Petrobras for 2013-built tender drilling rig Beta.

Petrobras has extended the rig by 180 days, bring the current contract from September 2019 through to March 2020.

Founded in 2007, Atlantica has two semi-tender units in its fleet. Last month, it signed a letter of intent to merge with Singapore’s Energy Drilling. The merger will create the world’s second largest tender drilling contractor with five rigs, representing 17% of the tender drilling market.
