Berge Bulk acquires HNA capesize

Singapore-based bulker owner Berge Bulk has acquired a 2014-built capesize bulker from Shanghai HNA Marine Shipping, a shipping unit of HNA Group.

According to shipbroking sources, Berge Bulk took over the Jinhai Heavy-built 176,000 dwt Bulk Success for a price of $24m. MSI values the vessel at $30.1m.

HNA has been downsizing its owned fleet recently, having sold three 2015-built panamax bulkers FH Fang Cheng, FH Ri Zhao and Zhen Bang to CDB Leasing for a total of $45m.

Following the sale, Shanghai HNA Marine Shipping’s fleet will have 12 bulkers.
