Borr Drilling jackup gets more work in Thailand

Norwegian jackup rig owner Borr Drilling has secured a contract extension from Canada-based oil and gas company Valeura Energy for its premium rig Mist operating in Thailand.

The contract extension covers a firm term of 9 months starting in direct continuation to the rig’s current employment that was set to end in November. The new deal will keep the rig busy through August 2024.

The 2013-built jackup is to drill three wells at Valeura’s Manora oil field by early August 2023, and then move to the Wassana field for a five-well infill drilling programme.

Tor Olav Trøim’s New York and Oslo-listed company said the total contract value of the extension was around $41m, excluding unpriced options.
