BW Catcher FPSO charter to continue past seven-year term

The BW Catcher FPSO, owned and operated by Oslo-listed BW Offshore, will be working on the namesake field beyond its fixed seven-year term.

The original seven-year base term of the contract expires on January 6, 2025, and from January 6, 2024, the contract is subject to a rolling 12-month termination right.

Until such a termination notice is received, the contract automatically extends on a day-to-day basis beyond January 6, 2025, into the option period.

The agreed extension options for the FPSO can see the facility remain on the Catcher field for an additional 18 years, until 2043.

The Cather FPSO operates for Harbour Energy in the UK Central North Sea some 174 km from Aberdeen in water depths of around 90 metres. The Catcher area produces from 20 subsea wells tied back to the FPSO.

The Catcher field partnership is made up of Harbour Energy which owns a 50% stake while its partners Waldorf and ONE-Dyas hold 40 and 10%, respectively.
