BW LPG pushes for change of domicile to Singapore

VLGC owner BW LPG has moved to switch its corporate domicile to Singapore.

The Oslo-listed BW Group company is calling on shareholders to vote on the move from Bermuda at the annual general meeting on May 15.

Under Singapore law, the transfer of domicile would be a direct re-domiciliation from Bermuda, and the BW LPG would have the same assets and liabilities as prior to redomiciling, the company said in a filing, adding that no changes to the board of directors or management would take place.

The company’s new registered office following the re-domiciliation would be the current BW LPG office address in Singapore. BW LPG would remain listed in Oslo and the move would not affect the voting rights of the shares.

BW LPG is the world’s top owner and operator of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG)-powered very large gas carriers. Out of 42 ships, 16 are capable of running on LPG.
