Castor Maritime flips another bulker

Cyprus-based Castor Maritime has offloaded its 2010-built kamsarmax bulk carrier Magic Twilight at a net gain of around $4m.

The Nasdaq-listed bulker and boxship owner will deliver the 80,300 dwt vessel to an unaffiliated third party during the third quarter of 2023 for a price tag of $17.5m.

Castor picked up the vessel from Aegean Bulk in February 2021 for a reported price of $14.8m.

The Petros Panagiotidis-led company currently owns 21 vessels, of which 19 are bulkers. In April, Castor sold its 2005-built panamax Magic Moon for $13.95m for delivery in the third quarter shortly after it flipped the 2007-built Magic Rainbow for a net gain of about $4.4m.
