Changes at the top at Knutsen NYK Carbon Carriers

Knutsen NYK Carbon Carriers (KNCC) has revealed a change in its top management with the promotion of chief technical officer Oliver Hagen-Smith.

Hagen-Smith, who joined Knutsen in 2009, will take over as chief executive from Anders Lepsøe in May.

Lepsøe will become the company’s chairman as well as head of NYK Group Europe in Norway. He will take the chair from Norwegian shipping veteran Svein Steimler.

KNCC was set up in 2022 as a 50:50 joint venture between the Knutsen Group and Japanese shipping giant Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK).

The company provides CO2 shipping and storage solutions using its propriety containment system technology which allows the transport of liquified CO2 at ambient temperatures.

Earlier this month, another management change took place at Knutsen with Synnøve Seglem stepping up to the CEO role at Knutsen OAS Shipping, to replace Nils Kristian Strøm who is retiring after about 11 years at the helm.
