Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry official under investigation

China’s Central Commission for Discipline Inspection has detained Wu Jun, deputy chief designer at Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry’s Cosco Dalian Shipyard, for investigations over alleged illegal activities.

The commission said Wu is suspected of serious violations of law without giving further details.

Wu started with DSIC in 1999 and moved to Cosco Dalian in 2008 and was promoted to deputy chief designer in 2015.

In June, China’s National Audit Office discovered a series of irregularities and illegal practices at China Cosco Shipping Corporation and its affiliate companies in the areas of financial, operations and anti-corruption during an audit of the group.
