DAL/Essberger outsources commercial management

Deutsche Afrika-Linien / John T. Essberger Group (DAL/JTE-Group) has appointed two Hamburg companies to commercially handle its containerships and bulk carriers.

The DAL/JTE-Group said the move will allow it to focus on its role as asset manager in these markets which are regarded “as an interesting addition to the other activities of DAL/JTE-Group in the liner trade represented by the brands Deutsche Afrika-Linien and United Africa Feeder Lines and in the European chemical tanker business under the brand Essberger Tanker”.

The three DAL containerships will be traded by Blue Net Chartering, a joint chartering platform established in February 2018 by Peter Doehle Schiffahrts-KG and Vert, a subsidiary of Costamare.

The handysize bulkers, meanwhile, will join the Hanseatic Unity Handysize Pool (HUHP), a joint venture between Reederei Nord and Peter Doehle Schiffahrts.
