Del Monte squeezes an extra pair of reefer ships out of Huangpu Wenchong

Del Monte’s shipping division Network Shipping has extended its series of fully reefer containerships at Huangpu Wenchong in China to six vessels, by ordering a further pair of 634 feu units, scheduled to be delivered at the end of 2020, according to Clarkson Research. The Tier III ships come with scrubbers.

The Del Monte fleet today comprises 15 owned ships and eight on charter. The California-headquartered company can trace its origins back to 1886. It has annual sales of around $1.8bn.
